What is this I have before me, just in time for the sun to show her face? Why it’s the new single from BURNINGBeeS, and it’s called ‘Nature Boy’…
A summery strummer of a distinctly 70s laurel canyon hue, featuring the kind of lush harmonies Crosby, Stills & Nash would boast about (and a cheeky mention of ‘wellies’ to retain the scottish edge), I have been blasting this into my garden since I got it yesterday.

In a just world you would be hearing this all over the radio for the next few months, which is when the BURNINGBeeS debut album is released in early June 2011.
OK, so I know these guys, have done for years… I was even in Oxford when some of this was being recorded and I am also involved in re-working the music on the forthcoming album into strange, new shapes.

The first of these reworkings is my version of ‘Nature Boy’, which BURNINGBeeS have given their seal of approval to & is included in the promo CDs of the single, as pictured above.
I have dug deep into the psychedelic heart of BURNINGBeeS music which – although maybe not readily apparent on ‘Nature Boy’ – is all over the album ‘good seed bad soil‘.
I’m pretty pleased with the results and have had plenty of love back from Neil & Stuart BURNINGBeeS about it. It’s 8 minutes long, starts off quiet, gets loud, gets quiet, then loud, then ends.
