Jarvis Cocker Radio

9 Feb 2010

I managed to catch the last couple of Jarvis Cocker 6 Music shows and wanna post about how much I’m enjoying them.

Plenty of Serge Gainsbourg and a whole bunch of other stuff…

like the readings from David Eagleman’s great little book, Sum: 40 Tales From The Afterlives

It’s a fantastic, thought-provoking book - my brother-in-law gave me a while back & I recommended it to a lot of friends. Pity I missed the Stephen Fry reading a few weeks back but…

here Jarvis Cocker reads ‘Mirrors’ by David Eagleman [You do not have Flash installed for streaming music]

In a more recent show, about SOUND RECORDING, Jarvis also reads an extract from Greg Milner’s book ‘Perfecting Sound Forever: The Story of Recorded Music’ [You do not have Flash installed for streaming music]

[it's a description of what happens to yr brain when you listen to john bonham's much-sampled drum intro to 'when the levee breaks']

If you want to download or subscribe to BBC Radio shows I recommend Radio Downloader. It works for podcast too i think.
